More Than P12-Million Worth Of Shabu Believed To Be From The Mexican Drug Cartel Seized By BOC!

P12 million to P15 million worth of “shabu” were seized by agents of Ninoy Aquino International Airport – Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group ((NAIA-IADITG) at the releasing area of a courier service in Pasay City.

According to the authorities, a foreign intelligence report of an illegal drugs coming in named under a certain alias James Corpuz arrived in the country.

The package was declared to a sealant or adhesive material for construction.

But when the package was opened, authorities found 20 pipes that contained illegal drugs inside.

Authorities said the package arrived on July 9 from Sta. Rosa, Mexico.

“With help from our international counterparts, we were given information on the arrival of shipment containing illegal drugs coming from Mexico. It was tackled by the task group and verified through the Customs Department,” said NAIA-IADITG Deputy Task Group Commander Marjuvel Bautista. “Through x-ray and physical examination the shipment was found to contain illegal drugs.”

Corpuz arrived last night at the office of the courier service to claim the package, but he was immediately arrested by anti-drug operatives.

Corpuz reported his companions who were all together inside a vehicle when authorities promptly arrested them.

The suspects are temporarily being held at the NAIA-DITG office and are set to be transferred to the PDEA detention facility in Bicutan for further investigation.
