JUST IN! PNP Bomb Squad Pinasabog Ang Isang Kahina-hinalang Bag Na Iniwan Sa Harap Ng Camp Crame!

The Philippine National Police headquarters in Camp Crame was subjected to a "bomb scare" this Monday morning after a suspicious package was left in front of its gate near Boni Serrano Avenue in Quezon City.

According to Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine Group chief Senior Supt. Edwin Capanzana, the said package which consisted of a backpack, duffel bag, and pail, was left unattended around 8:50 a.m.

"Sa unang assessment namin nung ininspect namin yung package sa X-ray e may nakita kaming cellphone at parang powerbank so we decided to disrupt the package to be sure that there is no bomb," he said.

"Baka po triggering device yung cellphone so to be sure lang," he added.

The EOD personnel used water disruption and the package turned out negative of any bomb components.

In the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage of the area, the package was left by someone who drop by from a passenger jeepney.

Unfortunately, the face of the person who left the package could not be seen.

The EOD official said they disposed of the package just to be sure.

"Alam naman po natin ang sitwasyon natin sa Marawi, there's a possibility na may supporters ang ISIS-Maute group na nasa Maynila," he said.

The cellphones will be submitted to the Anti-Cybercrime Group to check if they can get details of the package's owner.
