BREAKING NEWS! Pres. Duterte Nagbigay Na Ng Financial Aid Para Sa Mga Biktima Ng Leomarick Bus Accident!
President Rodrigo Duterte gave financial aid amounting to P20,000 for each casualty and P10,000 to each of the injured victims of the Leomarick bus accident.
The Nueva Ecija bus crash killed at least 34 people when the Leomarick bus carrying 77 persons was traveling from Isabela to Ilocos Sur fell into a deep ravine in Carranglan, Nueva Ecija on April 18.
According to Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) board member Aileen Lizada, said President Duterte has already sent cash assistance to relatives of those lost and survivors of the horrific accident.
The deceased and survivors relatives will also receive additional assistance from the bus operator's Passengers Accident Management Insurance (PAMI).
PAMI assistant vice president for sales and operations, Bong Nocum also said, "Ang P20,000 na medical reimbursement ay para pambili ng gamot o pambayad ng gastusin sa ospital. Ang halagang P20,000 ay maximum coverage ng insurance policy".
Any additional costs may be shouldered by the bus operator, he said.
"Sa ngayon, the management or operator of the bus company is relying initially on the insurance muna, kasi this company is small, they only have 4 or 5 buses, less this one na total wreck," Leomarick lawyer Ronald Dinos earlier said.
While most of the injured are already in stable in condition, four others, including two children, are in need of intensive care, said Dr. Napoleon Obaña, chief doctor at the Veterans Regional Hospital in Nueva Vizcaya.
Among those in the intensive care unit are a five-month-old baby and a one-year-old child. Ten others are set to undergo surgery to fix fractures.
