Senator Richard Gordon expressed his desire in making former President Benigno Aquino III to attend the Mamasapano massacre Senate investigation should its re-opening be approved.
Gordon as chairman of both the Senate justice committee and blue ribbon committee stated: “I will do if it’s necessary. It’s a very serious matter and we must have closure,”.
“I’m sure he’ll attend. Kung wala siyang kasalanan, ano itatago niya?” the senator added.
However, before the reopening of the said investigation, Gordon announced that he will first asked Senate leaders for advice.
Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) legal counsel, Attorney Ferdinand Topacio, along with 11 kins of the fallen SAF 44 members went to Gordon’s office asking for the re-investigation.
“We will respectfully request Senator Gordon kung maari para yung buong storya kasi putol yung storya eh, bitin yung storya,” Topacio urged.
It could be remembered that Senator Grace Poe said that Aquino was “ultimately responsible” for the Mamasapano botched mission killing more than 60 people, including 44 members of the SAF.
“Nung nagpro-probe, nakau-po pa si Pangulong Aquino kaya napakaraming legal repercussions nung siya’y ipapatawag, separation of powers, may immunity as chief executive, na ngayon ay wala na,” Topacio said.
