Starting April 30, Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) are no longer required to pay the Terminal Fees.
According to Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade, this is based on the directives of President Rodrigo Duterte to give OFWs priority and hassle free experience.
The Manila International Airport Authority signed Wednesday, March 15,2017 the memorandum of agreement between the air carriers preventing them to collect the International Passenger Service Charge or Terminal Fee.
The exemption is based on the Section 35, RA-8042 also known as Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipino Act 1995 which says that all laws to the country notwithstanding, the migrant worker shall be exempt from the payment of travel tax and airport fee upon proper showing of proof of entitlement by the POEA.
