Senator Manny Pacquiao said last Tuesday that alleged drug lord and convicted criminal Kewin Espinosa included Senator Leila de Lima in his list of officials who received drug money from him.
Senator Pacquiao claimed this in an interview with GMA's News To Go. According to him, Espinosa said that De Lima received Php 8 million from him.
"Isa lang po ang nabanggit niya sa [sworn] statement niya... Na-mention niya si Leila de Lima," Pacquiao said.
"Idinetalye po niya. Ayon sa kanya, sa salaysay niya ay nasa walong milyon daw po ang naibigay niya kay De Lima." He added.
Pacquiao also said that Espinosa gave the money to someone named Dayan. However, he did not specify if it was De Lima's former driver/bodyguard and admitted lover Ronnie Dayan.
"Pinapunta siya ng Dayan ang pangalan na tao ni De Lima para ma-confirm na utos talaga ni de Lima ang mga transaksyon nila," Pacquiao said.
Pacquiao also claims that there are several other people, including elected government officials and police officials that were included in Espinosa's affidavit.
He said Espinosa revealed the contents of his affidavit during their meeting at Camp Crame last week. Pacquiao said the meeting lasted for an hour.
This is not new to De Lima, as she said that she already expected Espinosa to mention the illegal drug operations in Bilibid.
Despite numerous accusations against her regarding the illegal operations happening behind bars, she has repeatedly denied her involvement.
Whistle-blower and staunch critic of De Lima Sandra Cam said last Monday that Espinosa will expose two incumbent senators, along with other high-ranking government officials, who received drug money.
Cam also claimed that one senator received a total of Php 5.7 million back in 2015.
Espinosa is expected to appear in a Senate public order committee headed by Senator Panfilo Lacson tomorrow.
