Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. confirmed that he met with incoming President Rodrigo Duterte, but no offer for a Cabinet position has been made yet.
Marcos only thanked the President-elect for his pronouncement of allowing his father the late President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. to be buried at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
He said Duterte discussed with him his plans particularly on busting crimes and illegal drugs in the country.
Marcos when asked whether he was offered a Cabinet post, the senator said they did not discuss it. There is still a one-year appoint ban for losing candidates.
Marcos, an outgoing senator, lost to Vice President-elect Leni Robredo in the May 9 elections. Duterte earlier said that he was not inclined to give Robredo a Cabinet post because he did not want to hurt the feelings of Marcos, whom he considered a friend.
