LP Presidential bet Manuel "Mar" Roxas in a late submission of his Statement of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE) showed up with a truckload of documents stating that a total of P487 million was spent in the last 2016 elections.
On Wednesday, Roxas submitted his SOCE to the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) saying that he has received a total of P469 million in campaign contributions.
Majority of the said contribution came from his mother, Judy Araneta-Roxas amounting to P110 million.
It was known that Roxas and his Liberal Party asked for an extension in submitting his SOCE, which the Comelec en banc eventually granted until June 30 to comply.
The said extension also caused further controversies as many where opposed stating, "the extension was unfair to other candidates and parties who complied within the prescribed period but also would be against the Commission's own resolution".
