A bill that requires elementary and high schools to teach basic life support training to students has been submitted to the Malacañang and is now awaiting President Aquino's signature to be passed into a law.
The Senate and House of Representatives has sanctioned the mandate earlier this month with the goal to ensure that citizens are trained with required knowledge and skills to be able to respond in a health emergency.
"Hands-on practice to support cognitive learning", a psychomotor training which is the focus on the said mandate.
Basic life support training as the bill mandates shall become part of the schools’ health and physical education curriculum. Certificate are also given to students who completes the program successfully.
